Cooking in Nashville

January 27, 2013 by Kari Karch

One of the perks of cooking for Kenmore is that I get to represent the brand at different trade shows around the states. This year was the annual Sears Hometown convention in beautiful Nashville, Tennessee. Seeing as how I’d never been to the music city and had only  dreamt of meeting Luke Bryan, I couldn’t wait to hop a plane and see some of the legends of country belting out lyrics as they strolled the streets of Broadway and 2nd. Well, it wasn’t quite like that, but Nashville is one city I will always remember.

We showed up last Wednesday to set up the booth and get everything in order for the next two days of cooking demos. I absolutely love doing live demos because I get to interact with the public and hopefully teach just one person a new trick or healthy outlook on the culinary arts. This years line up of demos included my Healthy Spinach and Artichoke Dip with Cumin Dusted Pita Chips, Decadent Hazelnut Brownies, Lamb Lollipops with Mint Chimichurri, and my favorite Chocolate Almond Biscotti. These recipes are a breeze to make a great crowd pleaser. If you are looking for a healthy appetizer for your guests during the Superbowl, then you must give my spinach dip a try.

Overall, the convention was a complete success and I was extremely happy to cook for the most amazing people. But I must say, that I will need to spend a couple more days in Nashville so I can soak up the culture a wee bit more, and hopefully run into Keith and Nicole next time!

Happy Eating!
