Kenmore Salutes America’s Troops this Memorial Day Weekend

May 1, 2013 by Kenmore

Memorial Day weekend signals the unofficial kick off of summer – which means warmer weather, longer days and spending more time with friends and family. Most importantly, Memorial Day is a time to celebrate and honor all of our U.S. military servicemen and women.

The Kenmore brand has teamed up with a nationally renowned celebrity chef to give back to U.S. military servicemen and women this Memorial Day Weekend as part of the brand’s 100th Anniversary. Despite the recent cutbacks during Fleet Week in New York City, the Kenmore brand is ensuring that the spirit and tradition of one of the most patriotic times of the year is maintained.

Through May 3, home cooks – that’s YOU – can post your favorite home-style, hero-worthy breakfast recipes. For every recipe uploaded, Kenmore will donate $5 to Heroes at Home, which supports military men and women and their families. From May 13 – May 17, check back to see if your recipe makes the Top 10 list that will be up for an online vote to name the top three recipes that will be served during the “Kenmore Salutes Memorial Day – Heroes Breakfast” event at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in New York City. One Grand Prize recipe will be selected by servicemen and women at the event to win an incredible trip to for two to the Food Network New York Wine and Food Festival!

We are thrilled with the recipes already submitted and can’t wait to see more of your delicious dishes come in!
