Creepify Your Kitchen for Halloween
As you open the door of your oven and slide that roast into it, consider for a moment that you’re actually putting it into the mouth of a terrifying monster. Yes, it’s halloween, and here are some great Monster Appliance ideas to keep your kitchen festive and SPOOKY!
FRANKENSTEIN FRIDGE:
Materials needed:
(1) Roll of green plastic table cover
(1) 12×18 inch sheet of black construction paper
(1) Roll of black crepe streamer
(1) Sheet of white construction paper, small
(1) Sheet of orange construction paper, small
(1) Roll of tape
(1) Glue Stick
(1) Fake chain from Halloween store – optional
Instructions:
Wrap each door of the Kenmore Elite Refrigerator in green plastic table cover, making sure the door still opens and closes properly. Tape to secure.
Wrap Freezer bottom separately making sure the door still opens and closes properly. Tape to secure.
Using the black construction paper, cut out 2 circles for eyes, 2 bolts for side of fridge, 1 uni-brow eye frame, 1 nose, 1 mouth, and 1 scar. Tape to fridge where desired.
Cut out two inner eye circles using the white and orange construction paper. Tape to fridge where desired.
For hair, cut crepe streamer into uneven lengths and secure onto 1 long strip of crepe streamer. Tape to the top of fridge.
ZAP THE MICROWAVE MONSTER
Materials needed:
(1) 18×25 inch sheet of neon orange construction paper
(1) 8×11 sheet of black construction paper
(1) 8×11 sheet of white construction paper
(1) 8×11 sheet of neon blue construction paper
(1) 8×11 sheet of neon yellow construction paper
(1) Sheet of brown construction paper, small
(1) Bright blue pipe cleaner
(1) Bright orange pipe cleaner
Glue Stick
Red sharpie
Instructions:
Using orange construction paper cut out a rectangle to cover the front of the microwave door. (Roughly 8.5in tall x 20.5in wide for the Kenmore Elite Microwave) Secure with tape.
Using black construction paper cut out an oval circle for mouth and 2 small circles for the eyes.
Using white construction paper cut out white triangles for teeth, and two small circles for eyes.
Using brown construction paper cut out two small circles for eyes. Combine all three eye circles together in layers using a glue stick. Draw on red “Y” shaped lines for bloodshot eyes.
For hair, cut random spikes into one side of both the yellow and blue construction paper and glue together in layers. Tape to the underside of interior of microwave, flip up and close the door.
For eyebrows, cut two pipe cleaners into three-inch sections and tape together. Secure onto top of microwave above the eyes with tape.
MISCHIEVOUS DISHWASHER MUMMY
Materials needed:
(1-2) Rolls of toilet paper
(1) Sheet of 12×18 inch black construction paper
(1) Sheet of 12×18 inch white construction paper
(1) Sheet of 8×11 inch orange construction paper
Glue stick
Red sharpie
Double-sided tape
Instructions:
Using black construction paper cut one 6 x 18 inch rectangle, and two large circles for eyes
Using white construction paper cut two large circles for eyes.
Using orange construction paper cut two large circles for eyes. Layer circles and secure using glue stick, and glue onto the black rectangle.
Secure to the front Kenmore Elite dishwasher with tape.
Using double sided tape, layer strips of toilet paper across the dishwasher until covered.
MALEFICENT TOASTER
Materials needed:
(2) 8×11 inch sheet of teal construction paper
(2) 8×11 inch sheet of lime green construction paper
(1) 8×11 inch sheet of black construction paper
(1) Small sheet of purple construction paper
(1) Small sheet of bright orange construction paper
(1) Small sheet of red construction paper
(4) Red sticky gems
(1) 10” section of blue fringe
(4) Slices of bread
Glue stick
Double-sided tape
Instructions:
Wrap the front of the Kenmore Elite Toaster in lime green paper and secure with double-sided tape.
Wrap the sides and back with teal construction paper, pointing the corners upwards to create a point, and secure with double-sided tape.
Using black construction paper, cut out two small circles for eyes, and cut out two winged lashes. Also cut out a pointed nose.
Using orange construction paper cut out two small circles for eyes. Layer eye circles and secure with glue. Place two sticky gems in the upper corner of each eye. Place lashes over eye circles at an angle and secure with double-sided tape.
Using purple construction paper cut out two small circles for the cheeks and secure with glue stick.
Using red construction paper cut out a small, lippy mouth. Secure with glue stick.
Connect blue fringe across the back top of the toaster using tape.
Cut each slice of bread into a “W” formation, Making two points on each slice of bread. Place bread in toaster to make the crown.
DOUBLE OVEN ANGRY MONSTER & WARTY TOAD
Materials needed:
(3) 12×18 inch sheets red construction paper
(3) 12×18 inch sheets of gold construction paper
(2) 12×18 inch sheets of black construction paper
(1) 12×18 inch sheet of white construction paper
(1) 8×11 inch sheet of yellow construction paper
(1) 12×18 inch sheet of forest green construction paper
(1) 12×18 inch sheet of neon orange construction paper
(1) 8×11 inch sheet of light green construction paper
(1) 8×11 inch sheet of red construction paper
(1) 8×11 inch sheet of brown construction paper
Glue stick
Double-sided tape
Instructions:
Cut red paper and gold paper to fit oven front. Secure with tape.
For the eyes, use black construction paper and cut four large half moon shapes. Cut two small pointed ovals, and also cut one large mouth shape, making sure to round the edges.
For the eyes, use neon orange construction paper and cut out four large “U” shapes, and secure inside of the black half moon shapes.
Using white construction paper cut out various triangle shapes; some large narrow triangles and some shorter, stubby triangles. Also cut out four small circles to add to eyes.
Glue these triangles into the interior of the black mouth shape, with the longer fangs on top.
Using Forest green construction paper cut out a wide slopping “w” shape for the toad’s bottom lip.
Using yellow construction paper cut out various triangle shapes. Secure these triangles to the lower lip using glue stick.
Using red construction paper, create red caps for top of the yellow teeth. Secure with glue stick.
Place half moon eyes, curved side up to the top of the double oven with double-sided tape. Place pointed ovals for nose holes, and the lower lip onto oven front using double-sided tape.
For the red monster, place half moon eyes, curved side down, to the top control panel of the double oven and secure using double-sided tape.
Place the fanged mouth on oven front and secure.
Using light green construction paper, cut out broad bushy eyebrows, and secure at a sharp angle to the top of the oven, and secure with tape.
VERONICA THE VAMPIRE FRIDGE
Materials needed:
(1) 8 foot Halloween fringe doorway curtain
(2) Black pieces of scrap cloth
(2) 12×18 inch pieces of black construction paper
(1) Roll of black crepe streamer
(1) Roll of green crepe streamer OR a 12×18 inch sheet of green construction paper
(1) 8×11 inch sheet of white construction paper
(1) 8×11 inch sheet of yellow construction paper
(1) Small sheet of red construction paper
(1) 8×11 inch sheet of orange construction paper
Instructions:
Using black construction paper cut out large mouth shape.
Cut out white triangles for teeth.
Cut out red triangle caps for teeth – assemble, glue, tape to the front of fridge.
Cut out white circle, smaller black circle, and even smaller yellow circle and layer for the eye.
Cut out rounded triangle for nose.
Cut out winged lashes for “wink” eye.
Cut out two black eyebrows. Secure pieces to fridge using double-sided tape.
Attach orange & black fringe curtain to top of fridge.
Pull curtain to sides and tie with black rags.
Cut two strips of green paper and secure to handles to create nose ridge.
Cut out two orange antennas and secure to top of fridge underneath curtain strands.
DOUBLE OVEN MONSTER
Materials needed:
(1) Roll of green crepe streamer
(1) Strand of blue fringe
(1) Roll of red plastic table cover
(2) 12×18 inch sheets of purple construction paper
(2) 12×18 inch sheets of while construction paper
(1) 12×18 inch sheet of red construction paper
1 black pipe cleaner
Glue stick
Double-sided tape
Instructions:
For the hair, cut strands of green crepe streamer and attach to top of the oven using double-sided tape. Layer blue fringe underneath green streamers and attach to oven using double-sided tape.
For the eyes, cut 3 large circles out of the purple construction paper and tape together. Cut 3 circles out of the white construction paper and 3 smaller circles out of the black construction paper. Layer together and blue to the purple circles then attach to oven with double-sided tape.
For the teeth, cut 4 large triangles from the white construction paper and tape inside oven.
For the mouth bunch of the red table cover and place inside oven. Cut a tongue shape out of the red construction paper, add a black pipe cleaner and tape to inside of oven.
CYCLOPS COFFEE MAKER
Materials:
(1) 8×11 inch sheet of yellow construction paper
(1) Sheet of white construction paper
(1) Sheet of brown construction paper
(1) Sheet of blue construction paper
(1) Strand red fringe
(1) Roll of green crepe streamer
Red sharpie
Glue stick
Double-sided tape
Instructions:
For the eye, cut a circle with the white construction paper, cut a smaller circle with the blue construction paper, cut a smaller circle with the black construction paper and cut small strands of red fringe for the bloodshot eye effect. Layer together and attach to coffee maker lid with double-sided tape.
For the nose, roll up some green crepe streamer and cut small yellow circles for nostrils. Tape to front of coffee maker with double-sided tape.
For the teeth, cut triangle shapes and tape them along the top and bottom of the coffee maker.
For the mouth, tape red fringe along the back of the coffee maker.
