DIY Shamrock Shake Recipe with Free Printable Straw Tags
St. Patrick’s Day is just around the corner! This holiday makes me want to indulge in one of my all-time favorite treats… the oh-so-delicious Shamrock Shake. You don’t have to swing by your local fast food joint to indulge though because I have the recipe to this one and you can indulge in it for a fun family night treat any night of the week.
To make these shakes, be sure to invest in a good quality ice cream as the base for your shake. We decided to create ours with Breyers Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream which added just the right consistency of creaminess to this shake. Of course, the star of this shake is the peppermint extract, which adds that familiar minty flavor we love. The color in this shake comes from the addition of a little food coloring and we added a festive addition of sprinkles to our glasses.
To add sprinkles to your own mugs, simply dip the rim of your cup in a shallow bowl of water and then dip the wet rim in sprinkles. To make it extra festive, look for St. Patrick’s Day themed sprinkles in the baking aisle of your grocery store. To keep it frugal though, like we did, just use those leftover green sprinkles from your Christmas baking.
I created these fun St. Patrick’s Day straw printables that you can use to add a festive touch to your glasses. Simply print our free printable out on white heavy cardstock. Cut out each of the printables and then add a hole at the top, with a handy hole punch, to create an opening for your straw to slip through.
I hope you love this fun treat as much as my kids did and that you enjoy our fun printable too! Happy St. Patrick’s Day, Kenmore readers!
