Mother’s Day is around the corner and this year I suggest going beyond flowers.
Take a few minutes to write mom a note or tell her why you are thankful to have her.
Here are my top five reasons:
For Teaching Me Patience
For sitting with me and helping me work on my penmanship during FIRST GRADE! You’d be glad to know I’ve been told I write like a girl and my letter P looks flawless.
Showing me Kindness
When you decided to open your luggage while we waited for a car outside the airport and give a barefooted woman and her two children clothing. At first, I thought you were crazy but on that moment something inside me changed.
Not only did you work full-time but you cooked our meals, cleaned the house, did the laundry, and another dozen things. Where on earth did you get the energy?
I can’t imagine moving to a new country where I did not speak the native language and raising three children.
No matter how many mistakes I’ve made, you’ve always been the one person I can count on to make me feel better. All it takes is that chocolate scone and some hot tea.
Happy Mother’s Day!
