November 21, 2017 by Victoria Hudgins

Tis’ the season for football, tailgates, feasts and parties and with them comes the ever present request to… Come on over and bring a side dish. We’ve partnered with Kenmore Appliances to whip up our fall go-to side dish. A festive fall salsa that is everything amazing about this season and when brought with a bag of sweet potato chips will wow any party host in your life.

It can be challenging not to just think about what side dish to make, but also how to transport it without spilling all the goodness of your creation all over the car, or yourself. With Kenmore’s personal blender this is not longer a worry. Blend up the salsa at home, throw the lid on the blender and stash it in your bag along with the said sweet potato chips. Fall sides done the right way! Here’s how very festive fall salsa recipe.

Festive Fall Salsa

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups pumpkin roasted with cinnamon
  • 1 tomato, diced
  • 1/2 a pear, diced
  • 1/4 of a red pepper, diced
  • 1/4 of a red onion, diced
  • 1/2 an avocado, diced
  • 2 strips cut of a jalapeno
  • 1 bunch cilantro
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 a lime squeezed
  • 1/2 cup good quality apple cider

Directions:

Dice the pumpkin and roast for 30 minutes in a 40 degree heated oven. This can be done in advance; I will often make it the night before for dinner setting aside what is needed for this recipe.

Meanwhile dice all the veggies, wash and chop the cilantro.

Layer all the ingredients into the Kenmore personal blender and squeeze the lime on top. Add the 1/2 cup apple cider to the blender and blend together by pulsing for about a minute. This blender works fast and we like to leave our salsa a little on the chunky side, but this is totally preference related.

Once the salsa hits the right constancy pop the blender off the base and cap. Stash in the fridge and be ready to present the best side around with very little hassle. We like to top our festive fall salsa with roasted pumpkin seeds. Also it tastes amazing with spiked cider served nearby.

Enjoy all that is tasty about fall this season with a salsa everyone will love.
