Inspired by eating Asian Lettuce wraps at chain restaurants; my friend & I were on a mission to find healthy & tasty recipes that we could make at home when fresh veggies were in season. We both love to cook & we’ve been cooking together for our families & neighborhood gatherings for the past 10 years. Our Market Fresh Lettuce Wraps with Cook-top Sauces is one recipe we developed that fit the criteria. I chose to submit this recipe because these lettuce wraps are delicious and everyone loves the in-season, market fresh ingredients used in this colorful platter, as well as the sauces we have individualized & crafted over the past two years. A bonus to this recipe is that individuals can choose the veggies & sauces they most enjoy to add to their own handmade wraps.

- 1/4 cup Cold water, Soy Ginger Stovetop Sauce
- 1 teaspoons cornstarch, Soy Ginger Stovetop Sauce
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar, Soy Ginger Stovetop Sauce
- 1/3 cup rice vinegar, Soy Ginger Stovetop Sauce
- 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce, Soy Ginger Stovetop Sauce
- 1 teaspoons minced ginger, Soy Ginger Stovetop Sauce
- 1 teaspoons sesame seed oil, Soy Ginger Stovetop Sauce
- 1/2 teaspoons sesame seeds, Soy Ginger Stovetop Sauce
- 1/4 teaspoons minced garlic, Soy Ginger Stovetop Sauce
- 1/4 teaspoons hot chili sauce, Soy Ginger Stovetop Sauce

- 1/2 cup chunky peanut butter, Peanut Sauce
- 1/3 cup water, Peanut Sauce
- 1 tablespoons rice vinegar, Peanut Sauce
- 1/2 teaspoons minced ginger, Peanut Sauce
- 1/2 teaspoons hot chili sauce, Peanut Sauce
- 1/2 cup sugar, Peanut Sauce
- 1/4 teaspoons minced garlic, Peanut Sauce
- 1/2 teaspoons chili puree with garlic, Peanut Sauce
- 1/2 teaspoons sesame oil, Peanut Sauce
- 1 tablespoons brown sugar, Peanut Sauce
- 1/2 teaspoons hoisin sauce, Peanut Sauce
- 1/4 cup cold water, Tangy Jalapeno Pepper Jelly Sauce:
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch, Tangy Jalapeno Pepper Jelly Sauce
- 1/2 cup prepare jalapeno pepper jelly, Tangy Jalapeno Pepper Jelly Sauce
- 1 tablespoons light brown sugar, Tangy Jalapeno Pepper Jelly Sauce
- 1/4 cup rice vinegar, Tangy Jalapeno Pepper Jelly Sauce
- 1 teaspoons sesame oil, Tangy Jalapeno Pepper Jelly Sauce
- 1/4 teaspoons minced garlic, Tangy Jalapeno Pepper Jelly Sauce

Step 1: Arrangement of Fresh Produce
Wash, dry and separate the lettuce leaves and place at side of serving platter.
Step 2: Arrangement of Fresh Produce
Wash and arrange the fresh produce on the large serving platter using red cabbage leaves as the garnish/serving dishes for the market-fresh produce listed at the left.

Pound 1-1/2 lbs. grilled chicken breasts (seasoned with 1/2 tsp seasoning salt and 1/4 tsp black pepper)
Step 4: Arrangement of Fresh Produce
Serve with any or all three cook-top sauces to be served as dressing for the lettuce wraps. (Sauces can be served warm or cold in one cup size serving bowls).
Step 1: Soy Ginger Stovetop Sauce
Mix and set to the side: 1/4 cup cold water and 1 tsp cornstarch. In a small saucepan, whisk and heat on stove top: * 1-1/3 cup granulated sugar * 1/3 cup rice vinegar * 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce * 1 tsp minced ginger * 1 tsp sesame seed oil * 1/2 tsp sesame seeds * 1/4 tsp minced garlic * 1/4 tsp hot chili sauce * 1/2 tsp hoisin sauce
Step 2: Soy Ginger Stovetop Sauce
Whisk in the cold water and cornstarch mixture and heat until it boils and thickens. Makes about 1 cup sauce. Serve warm.

Spoon the fresh produce of choice into the separated lettuce cups.
Step 4: Soy Ginger Stovetop Sauce
Drizzle sauce over individual lettuce wraps and enjoy.

In a small saucepan, whisk and heat on stove top: * 1/2 cup chunky peanut butter * 1 /3 cup water * 2-1/2 Tbsn rice vinegar * 1/2 tsp minced ginger * 1/2 tsp hot chili sauce * 1/2 cup sugar * 1/4 tsp minced garlic * 1/2 tsp chili puree with garlic * 1/2 tsp sesame oil * 1 Tbsp brown sugar * 1/2 tsp hoisin sauce Whisk mixture and heat until it boils and thickens. Makes about 1 cup sauce. Serve warm.

Whisk in the cold water and cornstarch mixture and heat until it boils and thickens. Makes about 3/4 cup sauce. Serve warm.
