Meet the Winner of Our Sweets for Your Sweetie Contest!

Thank you to everyone who shared with us how they made their Valentine’s Day a little sweeter with chocolate. It was a tough decision, but our judges have chosen the Cuban Espresso Dark Chocolate Cake with Salted Dulce De Leche Frosting as the winning recipe!

Here’s what our winner, Amy, had to say about the recipe:

This is, by far, my favorite cake. The espresso, dark chocolate, and salted caramel flavors balance together so well that it’s impossible to get the full effect without taking a huge bite.

Our judge, Johanna, definitely agrees with Amy, “I envy anyone who can make a cake this beautiful! The flavors of this cake sounds so interesting and oh-so-rich. I’d like a slice right now!”

We loved the inspiration behind Brenda’s recipe: “I am so fortunate to be married 33 years to my wonderful husband. He was feeling a little down this year cause he was missing his dad, who would of been celebrating he and his dear wife’s,(my mother-in-laws) 65th wedding anniversary this Valentines day. To lift my husbands spirits I have made in memory of his dad and his favorites coconut and chocolate. I am looking so forward to see the huge smile on my husbands face and in our hearts.”
