- 1 pounds fresh asparagus
- 1 cup smoked almonds, roughly chopped
- 4 tablespoons sweet cream butter
- 10 fresh basil leaves
- 2 cloves of garlic, crushed
- extra virgin olive oil

Method
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Spread clean and trimmed asparagus in a single layer on a cookie sheet. Drizzle with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Roast in the oven for about 15 minutes or until they reach desired tenderness. Remove from oven and set aside. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and add about 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Add 1 teaspoon of pepper, the garlic and the almonds. Let this warm through over low heat for 5 minutes. Chop the basil and set aside. Add the asparagus to the skillet and toss to coat with the butter. Remove to a serving platter and top with the basil.
