One of my all time favorite desserts is bread pudding. It’s rich, it’s sweet, it’s hearty and amazing with ice cream on top!
With the fall season upon us, I wanted to make a slow cooker bread pudding recipe that combines delicious sweet plums with tart dried cherries and luscious milk chocolate chunks so I can cuddle with a bowl of the delicious concoction on a chilly night. Would you wanna do the same??
Ingredients
- 12 slices of brioche loaf, cut into quarters
- 2 large plums, pitted and cut into large chunks
- ½ cup dried cherries
- ¾ cup chocolate chunks, milk or dark
Sauce:
- 1 ½ cups half and half
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
Directions:
Whisk together all the sauce ingredients and set aside.
In your slow cooker. combine the brioche, plums, dried cherries and chocolate and gently toss with cream.
Cook on medium heat for 2 hours.
Serve warm with topping of your choice. I prefer ice cream but you could also top with whipped cream or even chocolate sauce for an extra decadent treat!
