Toaster tarts are such a nostalgic childhood treat. These homemade versions are so satisfying to make with your kids, and perfect to keep in the freezer and easily pop in your toaster oven.
311 per serving
- 2 puff pastry sheets, thawed and cold
- 1 pounds fresh strawberies, roughly chopped
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1 tablespoons water
- 1 egg, beaten
Heat the oven to 375 degrees. Take a cookie sheet and place some parchment on top and spray it with oil.
Take a small sauce pot and add the strawberries, honey and water. Cook down until the strawberries turn into a thick, jammy consistency.
Take each sheet of puff pastry and cut them into quarters. Take about 1 tablespoon of the strawberry filling and add it to the center of four sheets. Take the other four sheets of cut-out puff pastry, place them on top and seal the edges with a fork.
Take the egg and brush the tops of the tarts, then bake in the oven until golden brown for about 25 minutes. Let cool for 10 minutes before eating
