Strawberry Watermelon Prosecco Punch

15 cup cubed and seeded watermelon

2 cup fresh strawberries, rinsed, dried and hulled

1 cup sugar

1 cup water

3 bottles of prosecco

directions

In a medium saucepan combine sugar and water. Cook over medium heat until sugar is dissolved. Add in strawberries and let steep for 30 minutes. Using a strainer placed over a large bowl, strain mixture and put strawberry simple syrup in a container. Can be made a day ahead. In a large punch bowl combine watermelon, simple syrup and prosecco. Stir to combine over ice block. Serve immediately.
