Game Day Hosting Tips

Whether your team has made the cut, or been out of the race for months, there is one thing we can all get excited about: game day parties. A successful party at your house can make up for a dreadful season your team may have had on the field (at least that’s what we’re telling ourselves). Here are a couple of our favorite tips and recipes to make this season finale one to remember!

The first thing you need to do is know how many guests will be attending. While leftovers are never a bad thing, you don’t want to have an entire fridge full of them. You also don’t want to end up on the other end of the spectrum with only a few plates of appetizers and 30 riled-up fans in the other room. Once you’ve got your guest count, it’s time to decide on food. Munchies are good, but you need to have something a bit more filling around to make sure no one goes hungry before the game clock hits zero.

We’ve curated our own list of game day favorites to help get you some ideas.

One of our favorites from the list is Touch Down Chili. Always a crowd favorite, and if you put it in a Sourdough bread bowl, it makes clean up a snap! Or you can put a welcomed twist on a party favorite, with these Greek Nachos (as seen above).

We all know that beer is the obvious drink of choice, but what about for those who don’t care for the suds? Whip up a batch of delicious Mango Margarita’s and everyone will be cheering.

While food and drink are the stars of the show (along with the commercials) it’s the background players that really matter the most. If your kitchen is filled with stainless steel appliances, you’re going to want to make sure they’re in tip-top shape before your big game party! Good thing we have a few tips for cleaning stainless steel.

Once your space is cleaned up and ready to work, adding some team décor can make your party stand out among the rest. Little things like having cups and plates with the opposing team colors can really add some life to the party. Or, go big and create dishes that reflect the regions of the teams, like KC BBQ Ribs, or Wisconsin Cheese Curds.

The most important thing to do when preparing for a game day party is to plan ahead. If you leave things until the day of the game, you might as well have the pizza delivery guy on speed dial. The new Kenmore PRO refrigerators can help with that because they have plenty of space to store all the extra food you might need, while making sure there’s enough room for cold beer.

If you know you have to prepare a lot of food, timing it out and keeping it warm can be tricky. That’s where having a double oven can come in really handy.

The extra space in this Kenmore PRO oven is perfect for cooking multiple dishes and can help take some of the stress out of your preparations.

After the game is done and the guests have all gone home, unfortunately there is still work to be done. Let the cleanup begin! Here are some tips for cleaning your oven that will save you some time scrubbing.

Whatever you do, have fun with it. After all it’s for a game, right?

If you are thinking about throwing a little get together at the end of this season, give your guests the full experience. Show them how it’s done right and come pre-season next year, they will still be talking about the amazing time they had this year.
