How to Make a Halo Halo Shake

Summer may be winding down, but there’s still some heat left in the days. Before we officially slip into fall mode (hello, pumpkin spice!), let’s take some time to enjoy the last tastes of summer with this Halo Halo shake recipe.

Halo Halo is a popular Filipino dessert that mixes shaved ice and evaporated milk with various fruits and other ingredients. Momma Cuisine blended up the halo halo recipe below. You can follow her recipe or create your own!

Strawberries and Pineapple Blended Halo Halo Sundae

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup ice
  • 1/4 cup evaporated milk
  • 1/2 cup chopped strawberries
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • Drained, chopped canned pineapple
  • Premade jello, cut into cubes
  • Strawberry ice cream
  • Rice crispy cereal
  • Wafer straw

Instructions
In a saucepan, add strawberries and sugar and cook down until it creates a chunky syrup. Set syrup aside and let cool. Blend the ice with evaporated milk. In a tall glass, add 3 tablespoons of the chunky strawberry mixture to the bottom of the glass. 
Then add some chopped pineapple. Next, add a few cubes of chopped jello. Add creamy blended ice almost to the rim of the glass.  Then add a scoop of strawberry ice cream
Top with rice crispy cereal. Add wafer straws and long spoon. Enjoy!
