The Ultimate Tailgating Timeline

September 29, 2016 by Kenmore

Before you get decked out in team colors and practice your fight chants, follow our helpful timeline to make sure you’re prepared for the most important part of the big game: Tailgating!

5 Days Before the Game
Prepare your menu and make a trip to the grocery store. Everyone knows that the feast is the main event of tailgating(sorry, football)! Make sure you’re serving up the best Game Day Grub and refreshing drinks to wash it all down.

Our favorite tailgating dish: Bison Haute Dogs
Our favorite tailgating drink: Michelada

3-4 Days Before the Game
Plan any additional games for entertaining a crowd. A deck of cards, a few board games or other fun activities can help keep guests off of their phones and involved in the action! There’s more than enough time to put together your own cornhole set for the big day — don’t forget to decorate it with your favorite team’s colors!

2-3 Days Before the Game
Dig up jerseys, sweaters, blankets, lucky hats and anything else you might need for game day — and give them a good wash! Here’s where your Kenmore top-load washer gets to show off its MVP skills! The washer’s Quad Action™ Impeller features four wash actions, including flex fins that force clothes up and out for ideal cleaning movement.

This is also a great time to start making any sides, cheese plates or dips that can be stored in the refrigerator. Tons of interior space and flexible storage options like SlideAway shelves and a full-width pantry drawer, means you can fit all of your game day eats alongside your normal groceries. Don’t worry about making dishes too early, GeniusCool™ technology uses Digital Temperature Control, Multi Air Flow and electronic sensors to keep all of your foods at peak freshness.

Day Before the Game
Make any main dishes that don’t need to be grilled and get all of your essentials in line.

Essentials Checklist:

  • a reliable Portable grill
  • or a trusty Hot plate
  • Fold-up Chairs
  • Bug Spray and/or Sunscreen
  • Warm items like hats or gloves

Night Before the Game
If you can, load up the car as much as possible to save yourself some extra time in the morning. And speaking of that early morning… the 24-hour programmability feature on this Kenmore Elite® Drip Coffee Maker is a must-have, so you can wake up to fresh brewed coffee, ready to go.

Game Day
Pack up your fresh dishes in the cooler, load any remaining supplies in the car and get ready for a day of fun, feasting and cheering on your team!
